Fellowship

Fellowship

If worship is the heart of the church, fellowship is the life blood. If you’re not aware, this congregation loves to eat, loves getting together, and loves celebrating God’s love and His many blessings. One member of our congregation was overheard telling someone, “Resurrection serves more meals than the Marriott!”

In our FELLOWSHIP OF BELIEVERS there are specialized groups that enhance this function outside of the worship services.  These events are coordinated by the FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE.

During the week, one may have breakfast, lunch and dinner at the church! In addition to Mini-Breakfast each Sunday at 9:30 am between early service and Sunday School, you can eat lunch on Wednesdays after the 12:10 pm Holy Communion service, and dinner Wednesday Nights between children’s musical activities and the committee or Church Council meetings, for a nominal fee. On special occasions, we pull out all the stops to have wonderful food and a great time of being together as a church family. Some of the special meals include:

Advent Night – This is a night of food, singing, crafts and fun to help us prepare for the birth of Christ. Some of the highlights include edible manger scenes and making Christmas ornaments.
Confirmation Dinner – honoring our confirmands and their immediate families each spring.
Dinner on the Grounds – A picnic lunch in the fall with special activities like a dunking booth that has Pastor Hunter in a wetsuit and the children running around with wildly painted faces.
Easter Breakfast – What a glorious way of celebrating the Risen Lord! A sumptuous array of food and flowers make this a beautiful time of fellowship.     The Annual Easter Egg Hunt – Is enjoyed by children of all ages.
Mother-Daughter Tea – Mothers and daughters of all ages (and remember, all women are “daughters.”) get together for a special luncheon in the spring, hosted by Love Circle.
Rally Day Breakfast – A pancake breakfast with all the trimmings that celebrates the beginning of the new church Sunday School year.
Shrove Tuesday Meal – Another pancake extravaganza on “fat Tuesday” before Ash Wednesday.
Youth Party – This annual Christmas party and dance are for our youth, grades 6-12, and their guests.
There are others, which can be found in the bulletin and newsletter.

Along with being service organizations, WELCA and the MEN’S GROUP provide fellowship opportunities for the men and women of Resurrection.

The ADULT GROUP, for men and women, schedules regional lunch trips and outings throughout the year, as well as holiday activities at the church.
